A Cardiologist's Kitchen: Stories and Sourdough for Real Life

A Memoir Told Through Bread

BUILDING WEALTH WHILE BUILDING A LIFE™

ABOUTA Cardiologist’s Kitchen is currently an anonymous space created by a physician who has spent her career at the intersection of academic clinical medicine, teaching, and the quiet rituals of the kitchen. She is a cardiologist, an award‑winning medical educator, a mother, a wife, a self‑taught home chef & sourdough baker, and a backyard gardener who believes food is a form of care — nourishment for both the body and the soul.
Her professional life has unfolded within one of the top‑ranked medical schools in the United States, where she rose through the academic ranks and taught generations of trainees. She has served as the founding editorial lead for a major section within a leading American cardiovascular society, shaping national conversations in her field.
Her writing extends beyond the kitchen. She is the author of peer‑reviewed medical papers, including policy statements from prominent American medical academies that influence healthcare delivery and clinical practice across the country.
This space remains intentionally anonymous at this time to protect institutional privacy and avoid conflicts of interest. The identity behind the work will be revealed closer to publication, and only as necessary with serious inquiries. Complete resumes, proposals, and abstracts are available upon request.

NARRATIVE MEDICINENarrative medicine is woven through the work shared here — the belief that stories shape how we understand illness, healing, identity, and the human experience. The kitchen and the hospital are both places where people bring their whole selves, and the narratives that emerge from those spaces often reveal what data alone cannot.
This project reflects that intersection: food as memory, medicine as metaphor, and writing as a way of making sense of the quiet, complicated moments that define a life. The chapters in progress draw from real medical experience, translated through the lens of reflection, creativity, and care.

LEGACY & FUTURE PHYSICIANSLegacy in medicine is not built through titles or committees, but through the people we shape — the trainees who carry forward the habits, values, and quiet forms of care they learned by watching us. A Cardiologist’s Kitchen is part of that legacy: a space that honors the emotional interior of arduous medical training and the reflective practices that help clinicians stay whole.
Giving back to future physicians has been one of the most meaningful parts of the author’s career. Through teaching, mentoring, informal coaching, narrative‑medicine work, and reflective sessions, she has helped trainees and younger faculty find clarity, steadiness, and a sense of identity in the midst of a demanding medical career. This project continues that work — offering stories, recipes, and reflections that illuminate the human side of medicine and the life that exists beyond the hospital.

BUILDING WEALTH WHILE BUILDING A LIFE™This phrase reflects the broader mission behind A Cardiologist’s Kitchen — a philosophy of living with intention, nourishing what matters, and creating a life that is both meaningful and sustainable. It is the guiding thread that connects the work shared here, from the kitchen vignettes to the memoir–cookbook trilogy in progress.
A well‑lived life includes all facets of well‑being — physical, emotional, creative, relational, and financial. This space explores those quiet intersections, from the rituals that ground a day to the practical foundations that support long‑term stability.

WRITING & PUBLISHINGThe first book in a planned trilogy is nearing completion. The second manuscript is partially drafted, and the third is in early development.
This first book is a hybrid memoir–cookbook — stories braided with original recipes, reflections shaped by the kitchen, and chapters grounded in real medical life.
Sample chapters and a full Table of Contents are available upon request. Agent inquiries welcome. More details will be shared closer to publication.
